Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Connected Systems (“Connected Systems,” “we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit connectedsystemstech.com (the “Site”), contact us, or work with us. We are a technology design and integration company based in Torrance, California, serving Los Angeles and the South Bay.
By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you request a consultation, submit a trade partner inquiry, request lighting information, apply for a job or otherwise contact us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your property address or city
- Project details, such as project type, timeline, budget range, plans, photos and notes you share
- Company details if you are a builder, architect, designer or other trade partner
- Resume and employment information if you apply for a position
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our Site and its hosting provider may automatically collect basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring website and the date and time of your visit. This may be collected through server logs and cookies.
Information from others
We may receive your contact and project information from builders, architects, designers, manufacturers or other people who refer you to us.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to your requests and schedule consultations, site visits and calls
- Design, propose, install, program and support your systems
- Coordinate with your builder, architect, designer or other members of your project team
- Send project updates, appointment and service reminders by phone, email or text message
- Send occasional news and offers by email, if you choose to receive them
- Review job applications
- Operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site, including through analytics
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
Your home systems and remote support
Some of the systems we install, such as networks, control systems, cameras and power equipment, can be monitored or managed remotely. With your permission, we may use remote monitoring and management platforms to check system health, receive alerts, apply updates and troubleshoot problems, often before you notice an issue.
These platforms may collect technical information about your equipment, such as device names, network status, connection history and error logs. We access your systems only as needed to provide service. We do not view your camera footage, listen to audio or access your personal files unless you ask us to as part of a service request. You can ask us to turn off remote access at any time, although some service and monitoring features may then be unavailable.
When a project is complete, we provide or securely store the administrator credentials for your systems, and we change or remove our access if you ask us to or if our service relationship ends.
Devices and apps we install are made by third party manufacturers, which have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising. We share personal information only as described below. None of these categories include mobile numbers, SMS opt in data or SMS consent, which we never share except with the providers that deliver our texts, as described in the Text messages section.
- Service providers that help us run our business and the Site, such as our website host, our online form provider (Jotform), analytics, email, text messaging and scheduling tools, remote monitoring platforms, and accounting and project management software. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Manufacturers and distributors, when needed to order equipment, register products, activate warranties or arrange support for your project.
- Your project team, such as your builder, architect or designer, when you ask us to coordinate with them.
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, property or safety of Connected Systems, our clients or others.
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business.
Cookies, embedded content and Do Not Track
Our Site may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working properly and to understand how it is used. You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies, although some features may not work as intended.
Analytics
We may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors find and use our Site, for example which pages are viewed and how long visitors stay. These tools use cookies to collect information about your device and visit, and the provider processes it under its own privacy policy. We use this information only in summary form to improve the Site. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt Out Browser Add On.
Advertising
If we advertise online, platforms such as Google or Meta may use cookies or similar tools to measure whether our ads are working. We do not sell your personal information, and you can adjust ad preferences in your Google and Meta account settings.
Some pages include content from other companies, such as Jotform forms, Google Maps and Google Fonts. These companies may collect information about your visit under their own privacy policies.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no common standard for how websites should respond to these signals, our Site does not currently respond to them.
Text messages and emails
Text messages (SMS)
To opt in, complete and sign our Text Message Consent form.
How we use SMS information. When you opt in, we use your mobile number to send SMS messages from Connected Systems, including appointment reminders, service updates, project updates, account notifications and promotional offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
No sharing of SMS consent or phone numbers. We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. The only exception is the service providers that help us deliver our text messages, which may use your number solely to send our messages.
No transfer of SMS opt in data. We do not transfer, share or disclose SMS opt in data or consent information to any external organization under any circumstances, even with your consent, except as strictly required by law. All of the categories of sharing described elsewhere in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt in data and consent.
Safeguards. We maintain internal access controls and policies so that only authorized team members can access mobile numbers and messaging records, and only as needed to communicate with you.
Opting out. You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE to any message. Reply HELP for help. After you opt out, we will send one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase.
Contact us about text messages. If you have questions about our text messaging program, contact us at info@connectedsystemstech.com or 310‑955‑1053, or write to us at 2790 Skypark Drive, Suite 210, Torrance, CA 90505.
Email updates
If you sign up for our emails or give us permission, we may occasionally send news, tips and offers. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time. Even if you unsubscribe, we may still send messages related to your project, service or account.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, support your systems, maintain business and warranty records, and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. When we no longer need it, we delete it or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.
How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No website, network or method of storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and California privacy rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you marketing emails. You can also unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
California residents may have additional rights under California law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act where it applies. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 also allows California residents to ask whether a business has shared their personal information with third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
To make any request, contact us using the details at the end of this policy.
Children’s privacy
Our Site and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
Our Site may link to other websites, including manufacturer sites and social media. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. Material changes will be noted on the Site.
